I really hate it when authors resort to magic as an explanation for things. It's probably why I could never muster enthusiasm for Harry Potter, and it drives my girlfriend crazy.

It's just this unsatisfying feeling, that nothing in this magical world has any relevance or makes any sense.

@fribbledom Like anything it has to be done well, you can have some sort of internal logic to it and the reader/viewer can get into that. It's how stories have worked for centuries.

I do agree with you though. For me the most egregious example was LOST.
