Today during lunch we were talking about Shanghai's "One City, Nine Towns" initiative of the 2001--2005 5-year plan.

Each district would get a New Town with the distinctive feel of a certain foreign architecture, so they created a Little Sweden, a Little Germany, a Little Italy, etc.

They hired an architect from each target country to do their bit, so for example for the German town they hired, ehum, Albert Speer and Partners.
Apparently there are three, *the* Albert Speer, his father and his son. Not sure which one founded the company, but it seems maybe the son.
