Some user wonders into our office, hands me an external drive and says 'Can you read this'? So I plug it into our unnetworked Windows box I keep for such things and it turns out it's encrypted.
"Nope"
"I need the data today"
"You're giving me a drive you didn't disclose was encrypted, and you want what's on it? You're out of luck."
We're having to do all this level 1 stuff because we lost our guys that did that, and I don't miss this kind of shit at all.
Probably nothing untoward going on but seriously people, be more responsible with your shit.
