@lnxw48a1 @musicman@nu.federati.net There is also a question of motivation. Is it accountability or revenge? In the case of history (especially the purges and the great terror) it can start the former but usually becomes the latter.

As for your question, Post-Weimar Germany this is precisely how political opponents were persecuted, and eventually - because these things always grow - ordinary people.
