My new glasses are 'progressive' (seamless varifocal) which is new to me. It's quite an adjustment.

I'm watching the latest DEFCON 27 talks that were published
Some of the #Biohacking village talks are mindblowing

I want to learn more about yeast biology, to build a bioreactor and get it running.

Some projects like
openinsulin.org/about-the-proj are trying to liberate the production of insulin by genetically engineering yeast. The bio is too hard for me but that is a really niiice project

Back to the grind. It's dead. Should have taken these two days off because no fucker is here.

Happy New. Year to my fedi friends, wherever you are. May you have a cracking 2020. 🍾 🎈 🔥

I've been re-watching The Wire this holiday and been getting the most out of it this time. It's the fourth time I've gone through it.

Mostly I've really enjoyed Season 2, which I originally struggled with the most as it is such a jarring change of scene. However considering it in the wider context it's brilliant and necessary.

Also the fact that the fan is bolted on via the heat sink bolts is really irritating.

I have just cleaned a disgusting anount of dust out of my I7's cooler. I have never liked this curved heat sink design, it packs with dust very easily.

While visiting my mom I grabbed her laptop to upgrade the OS to @Fedora 31 just to find out, to my big surprise, she already did it by herself. And this is when we're reaching the "damn simple and reliable" mark, my friends. ✌

Yes, of course you did.
Birdsite is full of this sort of bullshit. It's intolerable.

Took out the trash, and walked out into dense fog and absolute stillness.

Merry Xmas Fedi people, wherever you are. I've started on the booze already.

quartz clocks are actually super fucking cool when you think about it. we cut quartz that vibrates at ~32768hz per second as it's just above human hearing range but not too high to be expensive to count, and then we built a circuit to count 32768 oscillations to know that one second has gone. and that's what all the tiny quartz watches on peoples wrists do
