I was standing in the shower thinking about my current mood and how the advent of winter is definitely changing it for the worse, pondering a long rambling post here that would be cw'd for mh(-), suicide mention, and other wonderful things like that, and then I came out and saw four crows gathered around the peanuts I'd put out on the stump in front of the apartment before starting my shower.

And suddenly everything felt a lot more bearable. Altruism is a hell of a drug.

@anthracite Winter has an absolutely notable effect on mood. It doesn't help me that i ended up somewhere that is notoriously gloomy as well.

I need to move back closer to the equator so night stops falling on me at like 5.

@anthracite I can understand that. Back when I was in the UK by the time the clocks went back it was usually dark around 1530; it would be basically night when you got out of work. It could be pleasant around Christmas time with the lights and street markets, but generally it's a bit ugh...

@sullybiker

Yeah that's about where it is in Seattle now. There's a charm there, sometimes when it's drizzling I can convince myself I'm in a Bladerunner set and feel happy about it, but it takes work to find it.
