Back when the perimeter road was just a regular through-road and open to the public, you could see the maintenance hangars where heavy jets would be towed in the morning, left to air out all day before their evening trip home. Despite the sun, this was winter and it was very cold.

This was the Spring before, with the tow happening. The aircraft arrives early morning, and it's pulled back from the gate to a quiet area at the heavy maintenance where it's made ready to go home later that evening.

American Airlines 767-300 on it's way to (I think) Chicago, from a wet and gloomy Manchester. You can see the vortices spooling off the wingtip and the vortex generator on the engine nacelle.
