Lots of "journalists" use the idea of "the internet reacting" to something to shoehorn specific agendas and tell you how to think.

Example: "Biden just said all opposition parties should be jailed, here's how the internet reacted"

Then they cherry pick a few blue check mark statements that agree, and a few tweets that are funny to pile on.

"Well, that's what the internet thinks, so I guess I better agree! 🤷‍♂️ "
