I love how Ubuntu "just works": installed tigervnc, but wanted tightvnc? Just completely reinstall Ubuntu, it's faster than trying to actually uninstall tigervnc and tightvnc and restore the filesystem to what it was before they installed themselves.
@TheRealPomax It does some weird shit alright. Also that slow MOTD thing drives me up the fucking wall.
@sullybiker I love how some apps just get to overwrite X11 configurations. Because no one ever installed more than one application that touches the same files.
@TheRealPomax Also I cannot stand PPAs. Great idea, terrible in practice and they really should be avoided like the plague because over a surprisingly short period they will break.
