@Sherri_Ingrey@spinster.xyz My school library in the 80s had both Marx and Mein Kampf, and we were encouraged to read them. I told a colleague this and they were absolutely amazed. It didn't result in me goose-stepping to school, or seizing the shop on behalf of the workers. People are terrified of the notion you can look at something and not be it.

@sullybiker @Sherri_Ingrey You missed the post-modern mindset -- everything is a social construct. Therefore without admitting there is such a thing as morals, we must ban everything that is immoral, because reading those will turn you into a socially constructed Nazi. However, without moral principles, they somehow know exactly who should be banned and punished.
