I walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth before bed last night (normally one of the warmest rooms in the house) and realized it was cold. The furnace was not coming on. Great. Had a bloke out today, turns out the igniter was broken. This thing is going to have to be replaced at some point, and the piggy bank will take a hammering.

For now I'll take a $200 hit over a $7000 one. Just need it to get through Winter.

@sullybiker If you’re handy, you can do a DIY replacement for less than half that cost. Under $2k if you’re just replacing the furnace.

@dave I looked at it and I don't think I can do the interface to the ducting. It looks a bit beyond me.
