@lain Back in the day, 80s - 90s when you bought an appliance you'd have to wire on the plug yourself. It was a rite of passage.

@lain The power cord would literally terminate in 3 wires. You'd have to buy the plug separately. They came with the fuse installed.

@lain It was a bit, looking back, but it wasn't difficult. I used to like to do it (they actually taught it in school)

@lain @sullybiker every appliance i buy nowadays will have the wiring diagram on a piece of paper embedded into the uk plug side, some habits die hard
