Mastodon isn’t really designed for single-person instances; everything about it overkill for this use case. Is it possible, yes? Will it be using up way more resources than necessary? Yes. Will you run into scaling issues on a single-person instance? If you have a lot of followers *and* you engage with them, yes, you could end up launching a denial-of-service attack on yourself each time you reply to an active thread…

@aral @beaufils@mastodon.social @myoan@framapiaf.org @mwl I can tell you masto admin even on a single user instance has some surprising overhead. Storage fills up over time. You have to just figure this all out. I do Linux for a living and I find it a bit of a pain on occasion.
