Okay y'all here we go, another character attempt, after I mucked around with my custom "Nethack" profile in the macOS terminal. Kicked the font size up because hi I'm an old, and also rearranged some colors a bit because stuff the game renders in dark gray does not frigging show up on a black background.
Also dark blues are a problem by default and that's no damn good unless you WANT to run straight into a floating eye.
RIGHT THEN, Ranger, LET'S DO THIS.
@annathepiper I have retinal damage and also massively suffer with dark blues and grey on grey. Glad you can have fun with it!
@annathepiper I have to find a mix that works. Too much white blows my eyes out (not literally...) Most dark modes are really great for me. Likewise that default silver/grey that you find in MacOS and Windows absolutely wrecks my ability to look at a screen for any length of time. I'm glad there's options.
@sullybiker Yeah it takes some rearranging of colors, for sure. If that wasn't an option for me I'd be maybe looking at some of the versions of Nethack that let you play with little graphical tiles instead of ASCII characters.
But then, I'm enough of a Nethack purist that I really prefer the ASCII characters. :D
