There's a communist on Twitter (Okay, we're already in the toilet at this point) who is arguing Mastodon is bad because it's not state-owned, and what they should really do is take over Twitter.

So to be clear, small instances (many cooperatively) run trying to make a fairer and decentralised alternative is *shuffles deck* BAD

This doesn't sound like communism at all. It sounds more like someone on Twitter doesn't understand what he's talking about (which is normal for Twitter, really).

The stated goal of communism is public ownership of means of production, no social classes, no money and no state.

If a person thinks that something is bad because it's not state-owned, he might very well be anything, just not a communist. :)

P.S.: I'm not a communist, I just was made in the USSR. 😆
