Listening to the most recent Revocation album and I still can't quite gel with modern metal. There's no dynamic range, it all sounds so compressed into burst beats, it just doesn't breathe.
Maybe I'm too old.

It sounds to me like the bass and percussion just follow the guitar, which is an old weakness of *so many* thrash bands.
