PSA: set your phone, watch, neural implant, etc to ignore DND/sleep mode to make sure you get your kids’ call for help in the middle of the night.

I appreciate the concern expressed about this comment. The context is that my youngest son left to drive the 200 miles back to university late last night. I fell asleep soon after he left (~2:30am) and shortly after, he was in a car crash. He called me for help, but I didn't answer. I got up about 3 hours later and saw the missed calls and texts.

He's ok. He was stopped at a red light and someone rear-ended him, and then drove off. The car is damaged, but it could have been worse. He ended up completing the drive, since he had to work this morning. I've talked with him and he is ok which is all I care about. I am quite unhappy with myself for missing his call the one time he needed me. That is all.
