Reddit came through in the clutch for my Kali/NVIDIA driver issue. Not sure if this is going to sort things out but... we have something new to try.
Someone reviewed my make.log file for the NVIDIA packages apt-get is trying to use. Turns out my GCC version is outdated and needs to be updated to v12.2.
Gonna try that and see if we can't get these drivers installed once and for all.

@theauracle Ugh, that might be a limitation of the distro - can be hard when the toolchains are outdated and they don't ship anything newer.
@sullybiker It's one of the eternal bug bears of Kali. In order to keep it as one of the more secure distros, straightforward things like this get complicated.
