@HebrideanHecate They'll end up having it built by Hyundai if they're not careful
@GrumpyOldNurse @sullybiker That’s the one!
@HebrideanHecate The MBA industry has a lot to answer for.
@HebrideanHecate It is everywhere. The Royal Navy needed help completing their last major class of Submarines because BAE Systems somehow forgot how to make things. General Electric had to help. These things don't happen by accident.
@sullybiker Nope, they really don’t.
@HebrideanHecate I wonder if it will be finished or mysteriously get burnt out.
@sullybiker 🤔 Hmmmmmm, it;s Scot Govt, anything could happen!

@HebrideanHecate It makes me very sad. Such a strong tradition there, but they could probably knock it out in Gdansk in no time.
@sullybiker Oh, it’s long dead now, that is part of the problem too, the old boys are all gone, nobody has the experience any longer.
@sullybiker Something else which does not help at the CalMac end is that for too long now it has been the usual rot of parachuting mangers in from anywhere, like has happened to too many industries. Used to be ex seamen, now it’s random wallopers who wouldn’t know a ship from a teacup, same happened in the police, healthcare, Forestry Commission, you name it, nobody who has worked their way up and knows the ropes inside out.
