The only way tipping makes sense is if it's a free market, eg anyone can walk up and start being a server without prior agreement from the kitchen. Is that how this started? Jesters were middle-manning the kitchen and then got dominated?
@alex tipping makes sense to me, what doesn't make sense is if you make tips then the government says you don't have to be paid a minimum wage.
@Moon Well that's what I'm saying. The only way it makes sense to not be paid minimum wage is if you're not really employed.
