Why did Navalny go back to Russia when he had escaped and it was so obvious he was going to be murdered?

@mattb The same reason Prigoshin got on his jet. It's weird to me but they obviously felt safe.

@sullybiker I think the Prigozhin situation was different: he was just fucked any which way. Everybody hated him, the west would probably never take him, and whatever he did in Russia and its satellite state Belarus he was going to be murdered.

Navalny was in Germany, though, and chose to go back to Russia into obvious danger. I don't understand it.

@mattb He may hav e have had misguided confidence that he should not be in exile and instead be where his base is. It was strange and quite reckless because everyone knew what was going to happen.
