I like how the YouTube premium pop-up is "WATCH YOUTUBE WITHOUT ADS" as a tacit acknowledgement that ramming ads down your throat isn't like, cool. It should really say "WE'RE STILL GOING TO DO ALL THAT OTHER SHIT"

@sullybiker Ad blocker for YouTube and Sponsor Block for YouTube extensions on desktop, sideload Newpipe on mobile, never see an ad, sponsored insert, or pop up on there again :-)
@sullybiker that's the thing. I'd happily pay the creators, but I won't pay fucking Alphabet and I won't watch ads. (I also won't migrate to any of the worthy alternatives the creators keep nagging about though, it seems, so I guess I'm still part of the problem.)
@Pipski I've also used standalone players which pickup the video stream and also solve the problem. It should not be necessary and they keep changing their API to stop it, but here we are 🤷♀️
