Something I enjoy about the fediverse is when you get these membership surges, because of the curated nature of your timeline, you don't really see it unless you go looking for it. This makes for a much more pleasant experience, and one the other places can't replicate. The lack of manipulated trends helps, too.

It was interesting back in England to have the same feeling return at the earlier darkness. It definitely does something to my mood, the sun going in just after 4.

@davidculley I've been here since 20. 16 when I had a GNUSocial instance. I have seen it grow and grow, I really like it, it is the only place I know where microblogging really works and stays true to the connected village feel that 2009 Twitter had, before it became all angry

Bluesky still feels very ragey to me.
