@kibcol1049 I had no idea that was a thing, the abstinence influencers I mean. It all sounds quasi-religious to me.

@stefano I know this might be an obvious one but check there isn't a bios setting that is driving the fans. I don't know HP so well, but I have seen that on Dell. On a linux server, we set it to OS controlled which just ran the fans full RPM continuously. Setting it back to hardware fixed it.
