How's everyone's Winter weather been?
It's been very mild this Christmas holiday. It's nearly 56F today and climbing; last year the *high* was 12F / -11C. These are more like early Spring temperatures. We will almost certainly get some hard snaps in January.

From dev attitudes alone, Mastodon does feel like the systemd of the fediverse.

Leaving aside the data mining and privacy issues which have plagued it from the start, Gmail was a useful and powerful email client, hence the popularity.

It's therefore a surprise that Google have so utterly fucked it up. It's a slow, clunky mess now.

Rather surprised that the mail client in Windows 10 downloads remote content, by default. That's really quite shit.

...Also much of Win 10's very good HiPDI readability is down to fractional scaling. It's a shame this isn't easier on Linux WMs which I think are still limited to INT for scaling.
