Medical

Had my chemo port removed today. Very fast procedure, much simpler than when it went in (which was general surgery).

Although it's local anaesthetic and painless I'd almost rather be asleep. The imagination is much worse than what is actually taking place. The weird sensations of tugging and pressure and the doctor's head just above your chest.

I am growing tired of security researchers digging out esoteric, difficult to execute exploits, releasing them with scary names and then reapng clout. It's utterly tedious.

Bluetooth audio implementations are weird. My wireless earbuds have this fade-in with every embedded audio file or web video. I don't understand why. My Bose headphones just play it like you'd expect.

The inimitable Marlon's Ducati Factory tour is absolutely brutal. I could barely get through it for laughing.

I really need to stop biting with Holocaust deniers on Youtube.

At the point every app and web page wants to send you notifications, are they really notifications anymore or just more noise?

Notification API is the most abused tool on desktop now.

Space is tight and I don't know if I can get a mini fan in there.

Heat is an issue with the Hotshot. The electronics bay is fully enclosed which back in the mechanical speed control days with external resistors wasn't an issue, but now the electronic controllers need some cooling and the only vents are either end of the box where the driveshaft passes through. I may drill some holes in it.

My re-release Tamiya Hotshot is a lot of fun but it's turning into a bit of a workshop queen. Already had to replace a bumper stay because of some tree encounters (my fault) and now the speed controller has failed with what I learn is a common fault.

The much cheaper Grasshopper which my 8yr old adores just doesn't give a shit and is apparently indestructible.
