Seriously Google, this is why nobody uses your stuff. It's poorly planned, poorly executed, duplicates functionality, and you have a record of just dropping it as quick as it was created.

The XPS 13/9360 supports VP9 HW acceleration according to MPV but it looks like it's only a partial offload as CPU remains around 50%; about double what I see for H264.

chromium-vaapi working nicely under Cinnamon in Xorg on Fedora 30; but absolutely needs h264ify as Youtube VP9 videos won't even load. So, I effectively have a setup analogous to Mac/Safari in terms of hardware acceleration. I'll take it.

The Gnome upgrade experience makes me chuckle. Routine extension breakage.

I don't blame them for not waiting on extension updates because that would be impossible, but the whole extension implementation is really clunky.

I decided to give 'Solo' a punt on Netflix. Thought it was pretty good, I am not sure why it had such bad press. Some signs of script doctoring and loose ends but I thought it was a fun film with some pretty good character development.

Amazing historical photo of downtown Pittsburgh from 1908. About half of these buildings remain. Perhaps unsurprisingly there's many more people and places, and far less vehicle infrastructure.
