It is one of those strange Autumnal days where it is both sunny and wet at the same time.

Years back The Police re-recorded 'Don't Stand So Close to Me' but their drummer was injured and so he used a drum machine, and the version in general is classic 80s synth puffery. I hadn't heard it in years. It has a certain charm, but I'm a big guitar and percussion enthusiast and so prefer the original.

If you're selling your series on afforability and sustainability, maybe don't lock it into a cable TV deal which means an entire continent no longer can watch it.

I really dislike exclusive deals like this, it meant I had no way of watching it without forking over for an extension to my cable oackage, which is already outrageously expensive so I decided to just not watch it. I'm guessing quite a few people did.

for Season 7 of ABB Formula E (the zero emissions racing series) they did a TV deai which involved pulling all the full replays off YouTube. This week they announced they have seen the light and are putting them back.

Did an OS update and it broke my Masto container's ability to query SSL, apparently. So I just did the usual docker thing and bumped the version. Seems to have fixed it. Bit of a silent failure as my TL looked normal but I realised I wasn't federating.

The grain silo and barn. Below this barn is the milking area (populated largely by big fat rabbits at the moment) and next door are the pigs and horses. It's a working farm still and they keep a small number of livestock on hand.

Watched The Irishman. I'm not a Scorsese fanatic at all, but I enjoyed this more than anything else of his I've seen. Pacino is incredible as Hoffa, and the trajectory of his and Sheeran's friendship is genuinely moving.

Actually the original purpose was to try and make sense of the absolute mess of my 20yr old photo archive, which it did very well, but my god I fucked it up so bad. Really nasty hackery.

I wrote this little python doo-dah to pull RAW photos off my SD card, read the exif and sort them into folder by date, and I wanted to update it to python3. I discovered I did such a terrible job with it I may as well just start over.

I'd never heard of this phenomenon before. It's bonkers.
