When Desert Storm started the Royal Air Force were fairly well represented in the casualty reports. This was pre-internet, it was all TV or print, I knew a few school friends with parents involved and It was pretty nail biting in the early days.

Schools all went remote today..the roads had not been treated at all. They just did them now..at 10am. It doesn't take much to cause chaos here as there are so many hills.

More snow on the way. We have not had much this year.

I know it's incredibly bougie of me but being able to warm my car on a 15F day is such a good quality of life thing.

I saw my neighbor's giant golden lab on a rare walk in these 15F conditions. This dog just adores my kids and runs out to say hello. Unfortunately my own dog gets extremely jealous with this giant interloper, and does not deal well with him receiving affection from us. He's been sulking all day.

Just before the cold snap, y my central heating furnace decided that 25yrs was enough service and decided to shit itself. They just fitted the new unit, and it's dual fuel heat-pump ready for when the AC inevitably gives up as well.
