One of my old PhDs is now faculty elsewhere and she's been in touch for a project. I always like working with these people. Best part of the job.

Campus is at it's quietest in June. Although this ostensibly suits my grumpy introverted nature, I much prefer it when all the kids are about.

There is actually a movie about how the banks got cleaned out (along with the rest of the world). Internet investors are such fools.

It's only about 80F here but it's that horrific sort of humid where it feels like stepping into a sauna when the front door is opened.

So you could actually - if a home user - save yourself a pretty penny by ordering with Windows and doing what you want with it once you get it.

Looking at the Dell configurator for the XPS 13; they're being sneaky with the OS loadout. Time was Linux was free (for obvious reasons) now they are offering a ~$100-$150 dollar incentive to ship it with windows. dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-lapto
