I know it's common in service tickets but it really pings my nads when somebody opens one, you send a resolving response and they go quiet.

@Mek101@mstdn.io This kind of confusion is unfortunately common, as is the confidence with which it is delivered.

the shareware CDs that used to come with computer magazines are on archive.org and they will cure your false nostalgia for 90s computing

@mia Before I got internet (1998) this was the main way to get software. It was also a time where most games were tiered, usually giving away the first 3rd as shareware. I got to know Doom, Descent, Duke3d, and Rise of the Triad very well at this time (I didn't quite have the computer for Quake!)

@isol8@pieville.net @vriska lmao, there's an owner or employee that has reached some sort of limit.

@dave That's quite the flex from a spinster account

@dave Hah! Jokes on you I'm a white man on the fedi and therefore a nazi

@dave There's no middle ground in American politics, it's a giant stadium with two teams screaming at each other.

@Freezer@mastodon.social @tk Are you talking about sharpness or focusing accuracy? The sample images you showed looked great to me, but it depends what you're used to of course.

@Freezer@mastodon.social @tk At that focal length it gets very difficult.

@digdeeper@mastodon.honeypot.im Fuck Google and their anti-competitive bullshit.

Remote two days a week and I get this good boy keeping me company on the couch.

@vriska I hope you're okay. Immunotherapy suppressed my H&H just enough to mimic anemia but not enough to warrant an infusion. I take supplements instead.

It's interesting that when you don't have a huge amount of CPU grunt (some ARM for example) just how heavy webapps are. Masto is fine, Gmail is not, neither is Linkedin or FB. They're dreadfully slow.

@tk @Freezer@mastodon.social I used to photograph a lot of aviation back in England and at my local airfield and 200mm wasn't always enough for smaller subjects. The Canon TC was optically very good and didn't hurt quality either.
