Speaking of which, Josh Steffen did some Lars-ification of popular songs as a joke, and they got so big he now has loads. Try not to laugh...

So, and Lux Aeterna. It's strong out of the blocks, and really grows. Very interested to hear what the album is like. Hatfield's vocal style is the best it's been in years, nice to hear Lars grooving although this ratatatatatatata crash crash thing he's done for the last 2 decades is...well, you know.

@checkervest Oh my God Alex sometimes I could not adore you more.

@wiseguyeddie@mstdn.plus Sam Harris talks a lot about how this is part of the systemic breakdown in institutional trust; things should never have got this far, but they have and there is no bottom to it.

@ccradle I hate to take anything away from someone that might have pulled it off but it feels like a story concocted by a PR company.

@vriska That was the first Bowie album I really knew when I was like..12. I've always liked it, despite stuff like China Girl that was dodgy as shit even then.

There is nothing that makes me feel every second of my 48 years more than the phenomenon of the 'reaction video'. I don't understand it, and I know it's because I'm old.

@stux Boat McBoatface should have been the end of them.

Like smartphones the obsession with more features to collect ever more data results in a poorer customer experience, unless you pay for a new product. Fuck that.

My Fitbit tracker which I have found useful for tracking exercise and sleep habits had a firmware update recently which has resulted in it being slower, and with less battery life due to 'new features'. It is two years old. My wife suggests just getting another one, but why play the game? It still works, just a bit less pleasant to use.
