@HebrideanHecate It makes me very sad. Such a strong tradition there, but they could probably knock it out in Gdansk in no time.

The last couple of days have been characterised by high humidity, boiling over into intense thunderstorms. I remember one August like this, back in 2016. I don't miss it. It's diabolical outside.

@HebrideanHecate It is everywhere. The Royal Navy needed help completing their last major class of Submarines because BAE Systems somehow forgot how to make things. General Electric had to help. These things don't happen by accident.

@feld I have noticed their ecosystem - which has always been slightly brittle - has picked up more cruft and performance regressions in recent time, which tells me more resource has gone into the shop window stuff.

It's Anthrocon weekend and one thing I like about Pittsburgh is how the city just completely embraces it.

Sad to hear of the layoffs at Plex however the monetization of the platform has been a trash fire from day one. It was a great thing ruined by money.
