Finally some warmth has come in. I cut the front lawn yesterday, just before the eclipse, and it's even hotter today. The car's AC ran for the first time this year when I took the lad out to see some trains at the switching yard.

@alienghic When I lived on the Solent they'd have a tug on the bigger ships because the wind would move them about. There wasn't much to hit there, apart from Fawley oil terminal...but by the time they are up there they are on their own power and making good speed.

@alienghic I was going to add I will be surprised if these panamax ships are allowed on their own power now. A tug with a line fore and aft will be the norm for a while.

@c0debabe That refrain really sticks in my head. It's so catchy and perfect for the title.

@h_thoreson OOS are pretty good as they're not really in the enthusiast sphere and like to push things from the perspective of a regular user. Rivian's stuff looks very exciting. I see a lot of them in PA.

The Cherry blossom flakes turned into an actual blizzard on the way home. So surreal.

@HebrideanHecate @Flick @stephagain All by people that would last about five seconds in those societies.

@Flick I knew something was up when her regular acquaintance - a very quiet and quite sweet girl - referred to her as 'that whore'. Those weren't her words. It was obvious.

@Flick She was very obviously rebelling against the fact it was expected that she would be married off and pump out children.

@Flick I used to work with a lot of Muslim students in the UK and the vast majority were not observant at all, but they wore the headscarf because they were told to. Some of the girls had extremely heated relationships with their family; one of them became an exotic dancer and it was this huge scandal.

The gloomy weather is making people absolutely miserable. I've never seen people laying on the horn so much in all the years I've done this commute. This isn't New York, chill the fuck out.

Credit where credit is due! I'd really like to take a minute and thank Jia Tan how they helped us to finally get sd_notify() support merged into OpenSSH upstream!

Thank you, Jia, you rock!
