There is nothing that makes me feel every second of my 48 years more than the phenomenon of the 'reaction video'. I don't understand it, and I know it's because I'm old.

Like smartphones the obsession with more features to collect ever more data results in a poorer customer experience, unless you pay for a new product. Fuck that.

My Fitbit tracker which I have found useful for tracking exercise and sleep habits had a firmware update recently which has resulted in it being slower, and with less battery life due to 'new features'. It is two years old. My wife suggests just getting another one, but why play the game? It still works, just a bit less pleasant to use.

I absolutely loathe Instagram Stories, so I don't need to go into how I feel about a practically identical implementation on Signal.

My old workplace. The office manager used to really go for it at Xmas, I loved it.

Sidekiq showing a steady decline since the surge. It's very shallow, but it's trending down.

The influx of gimmick accounts where the posters are extremely funny (they think) but they don't interact with anyone.

We were talking for a while and I decided to shoot a text to my wife in case she wondered where I went, at which point I woke up in my own bed in the present day. Dreams are so fucking weird.

I feel a bit unwell so had a lie down this afternoon. I got out of bed in a place I lived in 20 years ago, felt hungry, decided to go out (took my son for some reason) and walked down a cold, wet, and dark Southampton street, through subways and past an office where I used to work. I remembered the bottom floor had vending machines and wasn't in a secure area, so I walked in and got talking to my old boss.
