so Peter Gleick posted this and i just could not believe it was real.

welp… it is.

this is an actual headline from THE ECONOMIST for an article published on October of 2023 and i have no words.

❝ WHAT A THIRD WORLD WAR WOULD MEAN FOR INVESTORS
gobal conflicts have a habit of sneaking up on money-managers ❞

for context, i took a screenshot from that page and the search result in DuckDuckGo

The 737 Max-9 hasn't been assembled properly. You can bet it's not just the plug door. What a mess. Boeing used to know how to do this, then capital took over. Outsource your manufacturing and QA, see what happens.

British Airtours 5390 had a window blowout because of improper fasteners being used, it almost caused the commander to be pulled out the window. Cabin crew held onto his legs while he lay on the aircraft's nose. Pressure hulls are serious shit. Like the Alaskan accident, this was not actually at full cabin pressure either.

No Mans Sky very capable of the 70s concept album vibe. I love it. Very Roger Dean.

I don't know why but I really enjoy all these YouTube vids of people camping in snow storms in hot tents. They're oddly relaxing and yet it is something I could never see myself doing.

When No Man's Sky clicks for you it really delivers some moments.

Anniversary card cost me almost a tenner. I might just take the punishment next year.

I wish I could bottle my dog's joy at prancing around in the snow. He's part husky and he loves it.

@beastoftraal #AltText4You. A pair of screenshots:

The first is from The NY Times. An article is titled “Everyone wants your email address. Think twice before sharing it.” It has a pop-up window which demands an email address to continue reading.

Then an article from Nature magazine, titled “The growing inaccessibility of science”. To read the article, one must subscribe to the journal, at a cost of $199 per year.

Took this on my old Pixel 2. It's the boiler plant at Bellefield, making a cloud on a very cold 0F day back in 2018.

My dad's kitchen in Spain. I took a stacked exposure and used Luminance, a FOSS high dynamic range (HDR) to process the files. I like the blues; this is pretty much what it looks like when the sun comes through the living room windows.
