@MelonDC Luckily they're old enough to be out of the high risk category for RSV, but they have both had things the last two weeks (2 colds, 1 ear infection...) it's been going through them like crazy this year, what with them not being exposed for two years.

@Effortless@noagendasocial.com the last time I visited my dad in Europe I had to test to board the *return flight. If positive I had a week hotel quarantine, on *my* dime. I could not stay with him in that scenario. Has to be a mandated hotel.

@Mitsu It'll come round soon enough dear. I know that wait, went through it myself a decade ago.

@MelonDC Som had a fall three weeks back, some people faced an 11hr wait at the pediatric ER due to RSV cases, also antibiotic shortages *everywhere*, Dr. prescribed amoxycillin and said we might have to drive around to find some.

@MelonDC @blkstarseed@anarchism.space There is some truth to that, and it applies to tech communities as a whole (see also Linux/BSD culture) but there are definitely people that don't see it that way on the fedi, and you and your friends are 100% to be welcomed to the fediverse and supported.

@alexmidd It's otherwise fine. I haven't found anything horrendous, but I use Spotlight all the time and having to figure it out was pretty annoying. Safari regressions I'm sure they'll get to.

@jerry Go easy on yourself. It is very easy to do. Glad he's okay, sorry for the inevitable insurance mess a hit & run creates.

@foosel This is. title I really enjoy watching. The world is so atmospheric, it's soaked in it (and not just timefall...)

Please don't recommend "just run your own server".

It's not a feasible thing to do for 99.99% of people and besides it doesn't solve moderation issues; it only subtly shifts moderation work around.

There are no technological solutions for social problems. Never have been, never will be.

Someone always has to do the hard work.

What has four legs and goes OOOOOOO

A oow with no lips 🐄

@yngmar I found a picture of my dad's boat from 1986, it's a Vancouver 274. I remembered it having a roller-furled foresail but I was obviously wrong...

I have run out of PG Tips, there is a danger of some blood making it into my tea stream.

@mattb He's amazing. Big fan of Lawrence of Arabia too ,and his later BBC work in Tinker, Tailor.

I must not try cardio in the afternoon slump. Why do I never, ever learn. I just feel like a miserable sack of shit until about the last five minutes.
