@MelonDC Shit Melissa I am sorry to hear that. It's really hard and unfair.

@fipaddict@travelpandas.fr I thought that lightship looked familiar! I've been there.

@Pipski I honestly don't use them much (enough?) but I will look at that. Thanks for the tip!

Modern software is a trip.
"I'd like to take some notes...lets see how Evernote is doing.:
Monday "UPGRADE NOW TO USE THIS DEVICE 50% OFF EXPIRES *TOMORROW*!!"
Sigh.
Tuesday: "YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS BUT IT'S STILL 50% OFF BUT THIS TIME WE'RE ABUSING YOUR PHONE'S NOTIFICATION API TO ANNOY YOU ABOUT IT"

@Blakely@hellsite.site The Trek films had a lightness to them the TV shows and later films totally missed.

@Thomas That thing with the hind legs over the nose, they look like little puppies. Mine does it too.

Wow, after 25 years of Unix experience, I learned that you can filter output in #less.

Press ampersand (&) and enter a regex to show only lines matching the regex.

Press ampersand (&) and then exclamation mark (!) to apply an inverse filter.

@Juju You don't look like the type that would take that lying down

@Mitsu You might be lucky. An Uber driver told me he makes the most money in bad weather.

@theauracle Ugh, that might be a limitation of the distro - can be hard when the toolchains are outdated and they don't ship anything newer.

@Rumpelstiltskin@mastodon.nz Yes It was a minor growth in my case but I have a lot going on with my eyes and it was *very* noticeable and came on fast.

Had a sudden drop in visual acuity which given my history was pretty frightening. It was a secondary cataract which formed on the back of the artificial lens capsule. They lasered it off and I've got some predicted blurred vision but hopefully that's it.

@LinaPavlova It reminds me of so many cityscapes, where you see that orange glow in the cold and dark and wonder about the life behind that window.

@deadsuperhero I really don't like being pushed down this road.

Seeing all these posts about MS365 being shit...DOS crashed a lot, Windows has always had a shit UI, MS Word is the worst document tool I've ever used, MS Excel couldn't compete when there was competition, did anyone really think Visual Basic was a serious programming language?, Visual Studio is shit for anything but Windows programming, ...

When you primarily pursue anti-competitive behavior, there is little left for quality.
