Happy holidays to all my fediverse friends ❄️ 🤶

Rather surprised that the mail client in Windows 10 downloads remote content, by default. That's really quite shit.

Still one of my favourite Xmas films from my childhood. I love the opening shots of Philly.

...Also much of Win 10's very good HiPDI readability is down to fractional scaling. It's a shame this isn't easier on Linux WMs which I think are still limited to INT for scaling.

Powershell gets pretty workable once you get used to its ways. Positive process murdering finally got some good methods in taskkill.exe.

Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics are being given to owners of Fallout 76, because I guess Bethesda decided that the way to fix their crap having little to no worthwhile story is to give games that have it.

Much as HiDPI displays are excellent for certain roles, if you're a bit of an all rounder (gaming, work, messing about) there's still a lot of holes and patchy application support. I'm not sure on a laptop there's much advantage to it.

Also it's 0330hrs and the second night of no sleep because both kids are sick. Merry Xmas fedi!

@hcs@pleroma.site I really enjoyed reading this about London - hannahsuarez.me/blog/2017/10/1

Some of it reminded me of my last days before I moved to the US.

I had a strange moment walking through Hyde Park after visiting the US embassy on a bright November day. I used to go there every day at school, some 25 years prior. It felt like a walk back through my life.

Instagram's web page has just turned into a giant mobile client. It looks really weird on a laptop.

The most frustrating thing is the Forrest Gump aspect - you never know what you're going to get.
