“You want sherry?”

“I want *vermouth*.”

“YOU CAN’T HANDLE VERMOUTH.”

@tk Have you seen the guy with the little log cabin on the back of the truck? He's in Alaska and they're really good.

I don't know why but I really enjoy all these YouTube vids of people camping in snow storms in hot tents. They're oddly relaxing and yet it is something I could never see myself doing.

When No Man's Sky clicks for you it really delivers some moments.

Anniversary card cost me almost a tenner. I might just take the punishment next year.

@HebrideanHecate They're going to fuck their pencil supplier off because they don't have enough staff that represent less than 1% of the population? That's smart.

@mwl Sorry to hear that Michael. I had the feeling it would go that way many times.

@HebrideanHecate Ideology does not damage institutions. It destroys them.

@lain It was a bit, looking back, but it wasn't difficult. I used to like to do it (they actually taught it in school)

@lain The power cord would literally terminate in 3 wires. You'd have to buy the plug separately. They came with the fuse installed.

@lain Back in the day, 80s - 90s when you bought an appliance you'd have to wire on the plug yourself. It was a rite of passage.

@kaia That's such a small thing but a huge quality of life booster.

@mwl That email was a tough read. I am very familiar with alcoholism, my mother was a chronic alcoholic for the first half of my life. She came out the other side. It can be done. It is not easy.

I wish I could bottle my dog's joy at prancing around in the snow. He's part husky and he loves it.

@HebrideanHecate @Flick It's a great measure of how far around the U-bend society is. It's just disgusting. These people are literal nobodies. How has this happened? How are they news?

@beastoftraal #AltText4You. A pair of screenshots:

The first is from The NY Times. An article is titled “Everyone wants your email address. Think twice before sharing it.” It has a pop-up window which demands an email address to continue reading.

Then an article from Nature magazine, titled “The growing inaccessibility of science”. To read the article, one must subscribe to the journal, at a cost of $199 per year.
